Tuesday the 3rd of January 2023:“A quick journal post”!!!

Rio de Janeiro: 33oC, hot and humid.

We often shy away from new responsibilities as we strive to simplify or discomplicate our lives.

Yet, this newfound commitment to journaling has become an integral part of my daily routine in such a short span of time. Even on those rare occasions when I miss a day or my usual time for writing, it’s not a monumental effort to catch up quickly. Instead, it’s a source of gratification and contentment.

I highly recommend it if you’ve never considered opening a diary or journal. It has the power to open you up to new perspectives and directions that might otherwise go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of daily life.

So, let me take you through a typical day in my life now, where journaling has become a cherished ritual.

Early Morning Awakening

The day usually begins with the alarm at 4:30 am. To some, this might sound like an ungodly hour to rise, but it has become my new normal. I’ve come to relish these quiet, pre-dawn moments when the world is still asleep, and it’s just me and my thoughts.

Morning Stroll by the Sea

Next, I head out, sometimes just for a leisurely walk and other times for a walk combined with a hard exercise series. My destination is the end of Leme. The choice between a simple walk or adding exercise depends on the time of my first class.

Embracing the Day with a Positive Outlook

With each step, I feel the positive energy coursing through me. Life feels good at 56, and I credit this newfound sense of contentment to my journaling practice. The act of putting my thoughts on paper, both the ups and downs, has a way of clearing the mental clutter and focusing my mind on what truly matters.

Life is good, and journaling makes it even better!

In bed by 9 pm.

Thank you again.
