Sunday the 15th of January 2023:“A Lazy Sunday with Yellowstone”!!!

Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 32oC, hot, muggy and unstable weather.

Morning Musings

As I open my eyes, I can’t help but feel a slight hangover from last night’s celebrations. You know the feeling—a mix of joy, nostalgia, and perhaps a little too much pizza and drinks. While my usual routine involves a workout at the end of Leme Beach, today’s plans have been modified. Instead of an intense workout, I opt for a leisurely morning walk to soak up the sun and clear my head.

The warmth of the morning sun reminds me that summer has arrived in Rio. The city’s vibrant energy is in full swing and is the perfect backdrop for the day ahead. Rio is different in the summer!!!

A Day of Laziness

Returning home after my walk, I embraced the leisurely vibes of Sunday. It’s a day meant for relaxation, so I grabbed my place on the couch and queued up a few episodes of “Yellowstone.” That and “Tulsa King” are the only series I watch when I have nothing better to do. It’s one of those little pleasures that make Sundays good—losing yourself in a good storyline without the rush of a busy workday.

Family and Growing Pains

Late in the afternoon, my thoughts are interrupted by a phone call from my younger daughter, Yasmin. We chatted for some time, catching up on life, and she mentioned a friend of hers that I’ve met a couple of times. My intuition had already told me this friend might be complicated, and Yasmin was starting to pick up on the same vibe.

Yasmin, at 15, is at that age where she’s starting to question the behaviour of those around her, whether it’s friends or family. It’s a phase of growing up that we’ve all experienced, and it’s good to see her finding her way through these doubts and complexities. We talked, and I offered guidance to help her find her way.

Preparing for the Week Ahead

As the evening approaches, I return to my Yellowstone marathon and prepare my desk for the week ahead. Sundays are an excellent time to set the stage for a productive week, ensuring that I’m organized and ready to tackle whatever comes my way.

Before I knew it, it was 9 p.m., and it was time to call it a night. Despite the lingering lethargy from the previous night’s celebrations, there’s a sense of contentment in knowing I’ve made the most of this lazy Sunday.

I hope you find time in your busy life to enjoy the little moments and appreciate the lazy Sundays that come your way. After all, it’s in these moments that we often find the most meaning and connection.

Thank you.
