Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 32 degrees, very hot, with a little cloud.
Today, I had to make multiple trips to the TIM telecommunications store in the Rio Sul shopping centre due to issues I faced while migrating from Oi to TIM. The migration process should typically be easy and hassle-free, but it turned out to be complicated, and I encountered a significant problem during my visits.
It was evident that the shop assistants lacked proper training and preparation to address customer issues and concerns effectively. Instead of genuinely assisting customers, they focused more on selling new plans to meet their sales targets. This approach is prevalent in today’s business landscape, where companies prioritize acquiring new clients over keeping existing ones.
Former pupils with high-ranking positions in global organizations have echoed this perspective. Keeping current customers by providing excellent service and ensuring loyalty instead of losing them to competitors is essential.
Yet, in many cases, businesses prioritize attracting new customers away from the competition while neglecting their existing customer base. This approach may lead to a significant loss of customers and revenue in the long run.
I am facing a dilemma with TIM, which is leading me to consider an unconventional path: going “rogue” with a pre-paid plan. This is especially important since I will be spending some time outside Brazil.
Before I go to England, I need to take care of some loose ends, such as getting a new copy of my Brazilian ID and securing an international credit card.
In addition, I am at a crossroads of new possibilities and am determined to explore diverse sources of income this year. I plan to start a YouTube channel with the help of AI, invest in Print on Demand, offer Travel services with language classes, launch a Bracelet brand, venture into affiliate marketing and digital marketing, and pursue my passion for Photography.
The upcoming months are full of important decisions and actions shaping my financial future. It is a lot to undertake, but I am eager to tackle each stage at a time.
Today’s experience has highlighted the evolving landscape of big businesses, where customers are often left feeling undervalued or neglected.
However, this experience can also be viewed as an opportunity to explore new avenues and sources of income to steer our financial objectives in a different and more promising direction. The crucial aspect to consider is having a “side hustle.”
Everyone should have a side hustle as a backup plan in today’s workplace, regardless of their profession. Ultimately, may you, too, find the courage to find new ways and seize fresh opportunities!
Thank you.
