Sunday the 26th of February 2023-Part 2:“Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner”!!!

Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 35oC, very hot, sunny and unstable weather.

The film that is particularly important for me to watch again is “Field of Dreams,” starring Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta, James Earl Jones, and Amy Madigan. If you haven’t seen it, I suggest you do so, as I consider it a future modern classic. If you also have some past trauma with your parents, particularly your father, I doubly suggest you watch this film.

The movie delves into the harsh reality of life and how time inevitably slips through our fingers.

It also portrays the act of making illogical decisions based only on a gut feeling or a hunch, without knowing the end result, as well as the idea of going all-in, never doing things by half. The story of the protagonist and his relationship with his father resonates deeply with me. He only realized the worth of his father’s presence in his life when it was too late – when his father had passed away.

The film’s main message, for me, is about the fact that our parents are not just our parents but individuals with their own needs, desires, and frustrations, just like anyone else.

Life is full of disappointments, especially when we prioritize others’ needs over our own. How we deal with these disappointments is a crucial factor in leading a fulfilled life without frustration or bitterness.

Instead of being selfish and judgmental, we should show compassion and understanding towards them.
