Wednesday the 1st of March 2023:“Renegotiating Fees and Fighting for a Better Future”!!!

Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 27oC, hot, Sunny and a little overcast.

It is the beginning of the Brazilian New Year, and I am ready!

Out of consideration for my students, I had not increased my fees until now, but now I need to. Although the economic outlook with this new government is bleak, I cannot afford to be a hostage to the situation and giving up is not an option. My bills will not allow it.

After living in Brazil for almost 34 years, I have learned that one should never give up or surrender to the country’s situation, no matter what the government does. It is important to strive towards progress and overcome the challenges.

However, in some ways, it seems entirely unreasonable, as the current government is trying to control everything and everyone. Brazil seems to be heading towards a new phase of dictatorship.

As an individual with my own life and responsibilities towards my family and daughters, I strongly believe that their future is of paramount importance. It’s crucial to resist being controlled and manipulated by a tyrannical government, as doing so will enable us to create a gratifying life based on our own efforts, hard work, intelligence, and perseverance.

If the new government has its way, we will all be poor, uneducated, and without a future. We will be reliant on the meagre resources that the government provides for us to survive.

It is simply unacceptable that we are still grappling with these issues in 2023. Perhaps if it was 20, 30, or even 40 years ago, some of the problems we face today might have been considered reasonable and understandable. However, there is no justification for such issues in the present day, especially in the year 2023.

I’ve come to realize that humans are similar to machines in many ways. Just like a machine that is left unused for too long, we can break down if we become inactive or lazy. This can lead to feelings of sluggishness, depression, and unproductivity. However, staying active and engaged on a regular basis can give us a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

The only challenge is overcoming the inertia that often holds us back. But once we get started, it can be an exhilarating ride, even if it’s a rollercoaster of emotions. Recently, I’ve made a commitment to regular exercise, which is something I’ve never done before.

This has transformed me into a better person, or so I hope. Despite getting older, I feel optimistic and positive about the future. The classes are progressing well as I break free from old chains to build a new future, business, and income.
