Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 30oC, hot, sunny and slightly overcast.
Even though I had gone to bed late the night before, I was determined to be up early to do a good workout. I cannot stress enough how much my life has changed since I began exercising regularly.
I used to be somewhat active, but I never fully appreciated the true benefits of exercise until recently. I tried going to the gym in the past, but it never really stuck for more than six months to a year. Part of this was because I never felt like I fit in with the gym culture and group mentality.
When you join a gym, it can feel like you’re obligated to become a part of a group and all the politics and gossip that come with it. This can cause you to lose sight of your goals and why you started going to the gym in the first place.
However, exercising regularly and proactively for the long term has been a game-changer for me. It may seem a little extreme, and I’m not saying I’m anti-sociable, but sometimes it can be exhausting to always try to fit in and please others.
It’s not always beneficial for your own well-being, and there’s always the risk of being misunderstood, which can lead to serious problems.
Besides, trying to be nice all the time can be a lot of hard work. When it comes to working out, I’m surprised to have found a routine that actually excites me. It’s no longer a chore, but instead, something I look forward to and find myself needing more and more.
It’s important to discover your own way of working out and be happy with yourself!
In bed by 9:00 pm.
Thanks again.
