Wordsley, Stourbridge, England: 7 degrees, cold, overcast and rainy.
I woke up to a chilly, sunny day. Rio is hot and sunny, but with a bit of luck, it can occasionally be sunny and cold in England. I say this because yesterday was rainy, and the forecast for tomorrow also predicts rain.
I went to the canal early to feed the ducks and swans. As soon as they see me, they are in front of me, waiting for food. I took a small round trip to the village centre; I tried to find a pair of gloves in one of the charity shops, but they didn’t have any. I will go to Stourbridge at the weekend, so I should be able to find a pair there.
Today has been a financial day. In addition to receiving payments because it is the beginning of the month, I also had to make many payments out. The queue behind me of people with their hands open in front of them, waiting to be paid, is long and vast.
I made another payment to Nalva, so all the bills in Rio, including electricity, gas, rent, Internet, Yasmin’s psychologist, etc., have been covered. Later in the day, while I was in the café/coffee shop, I called Nalva to confirm everything and that everything was OK.
I also transferred money to Yasmin’s account, and she later sent me a message thanking me. I called her back, and we talked a little about everything for about 15 to 20 minutes; it was quite nice. She told me about school, her mother, the end-of-year exams, etc., everything that is important for her now. It’s important for my daughter to feel that what happens in her life matters to me.
As her father, I care deeply, even though I’m out of the country, I want to stay informed about how she is doing.
I also gave my mother some money for food and home expenses. I had offered before, and at that time, she had denied it, but now, for the end-of-year Christmas shopping, she accepted. I promptly paid her in advance so that there wouldn’t be any confusion in the future.
Later in the evening, Nalva contacted me, saying that my new credit card, which I had ordered, had arrived at her flat in Rio. I told her what to do, to send it by registered post or courier service when she had time over the weekend.
Later at night, when I was in bed and couldn’t sleep, for some reason, I accessed my other bank account at C6 bank. There was another unauthorised charge in my account, so I decided to close this account. It took me some time to find how to close the account through the app, but I eventually found it and closed it. I received a message informing me that officially, it was in the process of being closed and would take another 30 days to be officially closed.
At least it was done.
I had deposited R20 Reais in this account, and R18 Reais was charged for no reason. It is obvious that the bank just wants to fuck its clients; with no support at all. I am very satisfied with my Nubank bank account, as besides regular banking services such as transferring money, depositing money, paying bills, etc, it also allows me to buy crypto, which is an important priority for me at the moment.
It is better and more intelligent as we age to simplify our lives rather than make them more complicated.
In other words, having too many bank accounts and consequently with much more information, passwords, and responsibility is not so convenient or intelligent; it becomes more confusing, and ultimately, you pay bank charges.
I prefer to keep my money for myself and not for others.
Finally, after closing the C6 bank account, I bought more Tesla shares. I had already bought Tesla shares before going to England, and now I’ve bought more. I don’t have a lot, but I have some. I believe in Elon Musk; you either love him or hate him. Still, he has a fantastic capacity, and I see the Tesla company not necessarily as a car company, but as an IT tech company constantly innovating and producing new inventions and products. Supposedly, the word on the market is that Tesla shares will go through the roof, stratospheric in the near future.
Let’s hope it’s true.
And finishing off, I bought more crypto, which isn’t really anything new or special to me because I am in the habit/obsession of buying crypto more or less daily, or at least twice or thrice a week. Until now, I have been receiving a 30% return on my small crypto investments.
I only purchase cryptocurrencies in small amounts and across various currencies.
This approach serves as a form of hedging for me, and the total adds up over time. So far, all of these investments have moved in the same direction. Currently, my portfolio consists of approximately seven or eight different cryptocurrencies; in my limited understanding, they should complement one another.
So, it’s a good financial day. Even paying out is good. It is not just a question of receiving; if we think about it, it’s like everything else in life.
In bed by 11:30 p.m.
Thank you.
