It is one week before Christmas, and I am beginning to wind down.
The truth is that classes have been slower than usual since the beginning of December, but now they are even slower, and I am uncertain whether I like it or not.
My lazy side likes it, but my normal, serious side feels guilty. Because of the slowing down, I am beginning to worry about next year. Another concerning truth is the situation in Brazil. What will happen to Brazil next year? With all the lies, fake news, corruption, and confusion that Brazil is going through at the moment, how will it go ahead?
How will I be able to make serious money to support Yasmin, Nalva, and myself, principally, through all this confusion?
I am beginning to consider England as an alternative.
I could reorganise my life for the next six months and stay in England instead of returning to Brazil. Besides giving online English classes, I could do the same with Portuguese, beginning with Portuguese classes for people who have properties in Portugal.
I could also use the time to invest in my YouTube channels, both for “The long gringo” and for “The right way school” or just English language teaching in general. The first month or two in Brazil are always slow, so maybe I can use this slow period to reinvest to open more income channels:
- The first is guaranteed: online English classes, where my pupils will continue with me into next year.
- The second is to professionalise and enhance “The Long Gringo” Blog. I need to delve deeper into blogging to improve the site’s content.
- The third is to diversify “The Long Gringo” brand with a YouTube channel, podcast, merchandise, and more.
- The fourth is to finalise and set up “Place Beads.” The website is nearly complete; it just needs to be fully configured to start selling and delivering in Brazil, England, and Europe.
- The fifth involves creating a YouTube channel for English learning. This requires investing in a quality camera, applying “The right way” methodology, and developing an online course for English through the platform.
- The sixth is to learn and invest more in POD-print on demand. With Etsy accounts, I can create interesting images through AI or the photos that I take for T-shirts, notebooks, etc. I want to create an account and a brand on Etsy so that I can use it in all areas of products and creation.
- Lastly, I would like to discuss the possibility of affiliate marketing that can be done anonymously from anywhere or one of my brands.
There is a lot to think about. I am going to use the time until the end of the year to consider what is good to do for the first half of next year.
It could also be possible to rent a simple place in England near my mother, work, and live alone. I’m not so sure. Maybe it would be good to go back to Brazil for a couple of months to see the situation and then come back and start again in England.
All I know is that this year has been excellent, and I’m very grateful, but I would like next year to be even better.
I am stronger, more informed and consequently more prepared than last year, so for me, the only way is up, not down. I am ready for any obstacles that could come my way, but those won’t stop me from doing what I’m going to do, what I should do, and what I deserve to receive.
