Wordsley, Stourbridge, England: -1 degree, bitterly cold, but a beautiful sunny day with blue skies.
Another great day! Truly, every day is good because I’m alive, but today feels special, and you only really notice it at the end of the day!
This morning, I woke up a little earlier than usual because I needed to open the side gate to take the dustbin, or trash bin in American English, to the front of the street.
I tried to do it last night, but the cheap padlock I had bought had already seized, and I couldn’t open it. So, at 6:30 a.m., I was struggling with the padlock outside in -1 °C. I had to get a hammer and a file from the shed, and eventually, I managed to open it. I took the rubbish bin out to the street and was organising the tools to put back in the shed at the end of my mother’s back garden, and then.
My mother had asked me the day before to hoe the front garden and gather the leaves, twigs, and small branches that had gathered over the last couple of months. Yesterday, I had declined, citing that it was too cold, but for some reason, I wanted to do it today.
Perhaps because I’m already outside, the shed door is open, and the hoe and gardening tools are just waiting for me. I took the hoe and started working on the front garden, which isn’t very large. Then I grabbed the broom and swept both the front and back paths, collecting all the dead leaves, twigs, and other debris, and putting them into the bin.
It took me around 45 minutes to complete everything, and I felt ecstatic!
I have never really enjoyed gardening; it stems from being forced to do it as a child. My mother often made me do tasks in the garden, such as mowing the lawn, hoeing, weeding, or other gardening chores. However, if I didn’t do them, I wouldn’t get my pocket money, and I wouldn’t be able to visit my grandmother’s, which would be even worse.
The day has only just begun, and I am already feeling fantastic. It was also lovely to see my mother happy, and it made a big difference to how the garden looked overall. I really enjoyed doing a bit of gardening, even though it was cold. However, I think the shock of the cold helped me feel so good while I was doing it.
The second surprise of the day was that as I was putting the tools away, I received a good morning message from the girl from the cafe.
It really was a pleasant surprise. I sent her a message back, telling her how nice it was to receive something like this out of the blue, which is really very kind. I also sent a YouTube link of a music video to make her day even better; I think she enjoyed it.
The third surprise was receiving a message from DJI informing me that they would initially deliver one of my orders today, followed by a second message confirming that both orders would be delivered before midday.
Wow, I had called DJI yesterday and was informed that only one order would be delivered late in the week, but now both are going to be delivered on the same day. As promised, both packages were delivered at approximately 11:30 in the morning.
After receiving the packages, I didn’t have time to open them because I had to go to the neighbouring village to perform the ritual of visiting the two banks for my mother every Tuesday. Only later will I be able to open the boxes; no problem, they are not going anywhere for now.
I went to Kingswinford, the neighbouring village and went to the banks and did the shopping my mother had asked me to do. On the way back, in the early afternoon, I stopped by the cafe on the green for a quick coffee. Julie, my flirt, was not there; I knew she wouldn’t be there, it is her day off. It is the day she looks after her two-year-old grandson.
However, what I noticed was that when she’s working there, everything is more finely tuned, working well like a Swiss watch, with quick service and no dirty tables, etc.
I noticed various dirty tables that I had never seen before, and as I was in a rush to get back home to give classes, the small cappuccino I had ordered took an eternity to arrive. I don’t think that it is just because I want to go out with her that I noticed this, but it was clear to me that when she is there, the cafe runs much better and smoother.
When I arrived home, I gave classes for the rest of the afternoon. I mustered up the courage to buy the new silver strap for my smartwatch, and I exchanged messages with my flirt, which was very nice.
WHAT A DAY!
Early morning exercise, hoeing the front and back gardens, that pleased my mother—a good morning message from my flirt, which is always good for the heart and the ego. My two packages from DJI have arrived: the camera and the drone. Crypto is going up; I’m making money as usual from classes, and everything is going well.
I’m unsure if everything is alright because of the recent arrival of the watch, the drone, the camera, and more money in my account, which all seem like materialistic things.
Or is it all because of Julie, the flirt that, after declaring myself to her, seems to be taking a whole new shape and dimension?
Let’s see-only time will tell!
In bed by 11:00 p.m.
Thank you.
