Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: 28 degrees, hot, sunny, and slightly overcast.
It is Saturday, and I haven’t spoken to Julie for about a week.
Over the last couple of days, I have had a kind of crisis, wanting to send her a message and thinking about her too much, but I had to control myself.
I don’t believe a man should blindly chase after a woman, or at least not sell himself short by pursuing her when she’s not reciprocating on equal terms. Maybe I am a little machist, old school or chauvinist, but I think that for a woman to respect a man, he should not be too easy.
A man is a man, and he has to show the woman that he has limits, boundaries, and above all, self-respect.
Sometimes he thinks he’s doing well by doing everything for her, but she, deep down, does not really appreciate it, value it, and in some ways despises him for it. A woman wants to be provoked in the good sense of the word, made to think, act, and be challenged.
If a man is too good, too tentative, too nice, too honeyed and sugary, nobody likes him, even men want to be challenged; nobody wants someone too good, nice and too predictable 24/7.
I am getting on with my life and doing my own thing, and this is the most essential point. It is important to continue doing what you need to do for yourself to self-improve in all areas of your life; externally, everything else will sort itself out.
Especially if you are positive and proactive with yourself; if not, it will be challenging to get ahead and resolve your shit.
Yasmin and I got up early and went to the Portuguese baker’s for breakfast. After a walk around for mango and along the beach, we ended up at the park for a generic workout. Obviously, I am no personal trainer. My son-in-law is, but I know. However, I showed you the name of the series I usually do when I’m at the park.
- I walk at least 6 or 7000 steps that we had already done.
- At least 5 to 10 minutes of skipping.
- At least 5 to 10 exercises with the TRX straps that combine the arm, stomach, and abdomen.
- At least three or four leg exercises with the straps, including squats that always kill me.
Yasmin enjoyed the exercises I did, too, of course. Being with my daughter is always very good, and in the park, with the sun shining, a slight breeze, and exercise itself, it’s a recipe for happiness. Sun in the morning. So what can be better than a walk, exercise and sun in the morning?
How can you be depressed with that? You can’t!!!
I’m also using elastics that I bought from Amazon in England, so a basic session and series for me nowadays is:
- A walk and getting some sun.
- Skipping.
- Arm, abdomen and leg exercises with TRX straps.
- Arm exercises with the elastics.
When I go back to England, I want to buy a kettlebell. I have seen some kettlebell exercises online, and I think that is what I am missing, but only when I go back to England.
For the rest of the day, I was at home, intermittently working on my blog revision and resting. I hope to finish as soon as possible so I can move on to the next step.
In bed by midnight.
Thank you.
