Today is Sunday, a day that traditionally calls for relaxation and taking things slowly. But for me, it turned out to be quite the opposite.
Instead of a leisurely morning, I found myself engaged in an intense workout that lasted well over an hour, with a substantial part of that time dedicated to skipping. It was a surprising departure from the expected slow-paced Sunday.
You see, I’ve embarked on a journey to prepare for the future, one that involves setting up YouTube channels as potential sources of passive income. Living in Brazil for over 30 years has presented challenges, especially when building a financial safety net for retirement.
While my time in Brazil has allowed me to establish a solid foundation for work, the economic landscape has been far from favourable. It’s no secret that Brazil has weathered its fair share of economic turbulence over the past few decades.
The ever-changing rules, recurring recessions, and a political climate fraught with corruption make it a particularly challenging environment for financial stability.
Yet, my decision to remain in Brazil is driven by a deeply personal commitment—to be near my daughters. My father’s absence during my youth left an indelible mark, and I vowed never to follow in his footsteps. It’s a promise I’ve upheld steadfastly.
Navigating the business and work world in Brazil can be an uphill battle. It often feels like nothing can flourish in this ever-changing landscape. Even well-established companies have crumbled under the weight of economic challenges and political uncertainties.
The path I’ve chosen to build a passive income for retirement is not without its hurdles. It requires a shift in mindset and a dedication to acquiring new skills. Over the past year and a half, I’ve been working to pave the way for a more secure future.
Life often presents us with moments when we must tread in the dark, uncertain of where the path may lead. But in these moments, belief becomes our guiding light. It’s a belief in our ability to adapt, learn, and overcome, even in the face of daunting challenges.
